One 60-day cruise circling the Land Down Under is being halted days after the fatal incident of an senior female passenger who was abandoned by the ship on a remote island.

The passenger had been hiking on Lizard Island with fellow passengers from the vessel, but separated from the party for a pause. The liner departed without her and went back several hours later after the personnel discovered the lady was not present.

An extensive search operation found her remains the next day.
